Dear Representative,

I am writing to you not as a Democrat or a Republican, but as a constituent who votes — and who is paying attention.

I am tired of binary choices that leave no room for compromise. I am tired of watching both parties point fingers while the country I live in gets more expensive, more divided, and less functional by the year. I am not interested in which side you blame. I am interested in what you intend to fix.

I have been reading about five issues where the standard left-right framing is failing Americans on both sides:

  1. Mass Shootings & Child Safety — The data shows a clear profile and a solvable online radicalization pipeline. We verify identity for banking but not for children's internet access. Three companies could fix this tomorrow. Why haven't they been required to?
  2. Immigration & Proximity — We've spent over a trillion dollars in foreign aid to countries thousands of miles away while investing almost nothing in stabilizing Mexico and our own hemisphere. The border isn't the problem. It's where the problem becomes visible.
  3. The Capitalism-Socialism Myth — America has been a hybrid economy since its founding. Our most popular programs are socialist in structure. Democratic socialism is not communism. I expect my representatives to know the difference and stop using fear as a substitute for policy.
  4. Healthcare — We run five incompatible systems simultaneously and pay more than any nation on earth for worse outcomes. The federal government should set standards and enforce them — the way the SEC runs financial markets — and let states build systems that work for their populations.
  5. The New World Order — The era of American unipolar dominance is ending because the system we built worked. Other nations grew strong. That was the plan. I support strategic partnership over empire, investment in our hemisphere over policing the globe, and leading by example over leading by force.

I am not asking you to agree with every point above. I am asking you to stop treating compromise as weakness. The founders built this system on the principle that reasonable people can disagree and still govern together. That principle is dying — and the people killing it are the ones who benefit from the division.

I will be watching how you vote, what you prioritize, and whether you are willing to work across the aisle to produce outcomes — not just talking points. I will support representatives who pursue measurable results on the issues that affect my daily life, regardless of party.

I vote. I pay attention. And I am not alone.
